2020 for all of us has been a bit of a rollercoaster, but as your local theatre, Cast are committed to being by your side throughout it! Now that we’re back into Tier 3, we thought we’d concentrate on the brilliant creative opportunities that we can still do.
Watch a Show!
The curtain may be temporarily down on our stages, but we are excited to be able to offer some great alternatives to live theatre.
Hop online and enjoy Sammy and the Beanstalk between 19 December and 3 January – it's a new contemporary Christmas story from Opera Up Close for families with children aged 7 years plus.
If live theatre is where your heart is at, we’ve been busy programming a great new season (plus some of the fantastic shows we’ve had to reschedule) in 2021, which will be going on sale soon!
We’re going full steam ahead with festive fun and celebrating the season in style, with a toe-tapping sing-a-long! Join us on Monday 21 December at 2pm, when our wonderful musicians will be singing Christmas classics from carols to chart toppers straight from Cast’s Main Stage. Everyone is welcome to tune in via Facebook Live and YouTube, and for those of you without internet, you can also listen via the radio! To find out more register fill in either the form for individuals or organisations.
In partnership with the National Theatre, we are really excited to be distributing 1200 panto creativity packs to families in Doncaster. Plus, we have lots of online activity ideas that you can do from home:
There are a host of festive workshops that children and young people can take part in, from fun creative days to art workshops. These can still be held at Cast during Tier 3. Check out our What’s On Page for ideas of what your child could do.
Or why not get involved in Riptide’s Project Intimacy digital project, a two-week long universal experience which aims to form new connections and combat isolation with people from across the country!
Some of our regular activity has also continued to run; Cast Youth Theatre has been running throughout lockdown, and we’ll back in the theatre from 5 December. We’ve been working on some great creative ideas from sock puppet theatre, to creating a brand new song for the Youth Theatre to sing – Light My Fire. Our Public Acts' participants have enjoyed being part of a national singing project and taking part and getting creative in the Stories to Get You Through project.
