The course will run from Saturday 1 May until Saturday 26 June 2021, giving you the opportunity to develop your filmmaking skills, work with industry professionals and take your first steps into the film industry. The course will run between 9am-1pm every Saturday.
The filmmaking course provides the chance to learn essential skills such as scriptwriting, cinematography, video editing and acting. You will work alongside industry professionals to create a short film which will be screened at a special event at Cast in Doncaster late in the year. This is a fantastic opportunity for those new to filmmaking to explore this exciting subject. For experienced young filmmakers, the new BFI Film Club is a brilliant way to develop existing skills further.
The course fee is £25 for the nine week term. We offer a generous bursary scheme that will cover the course fee and any additional support you may require including travel to ensure there are no financial barriers to taking part.
The deadline for applications is Sunday 25 April, 5pm.
The course will be delivered online through Zoom. We will provide updates throughout the application process and should Government COVID-19 guidelines change, we will switch to an in-person delivery approach at Cast Theatre in Doncaster. In the event that we move the course to in-person teaching, COVID-19 guidelines will be adhered to and we will continually assess the safest and most appropriate way of conducting the course. All learners will receive film making equipment and films through the post so that they can engage with the course.
