The Royal Ballet has an exciting partnership offer for dance schools in Doncaster. The Royal Ballet’s talent development programme, Chance to Dance, is coming to Doncaster, in partnership with Cast. Do you run or teach at a dance school in the area? Would you like to take part in professional development led by dance artists from The Royal Ballet and The Royal Ballet School? Are you interested in teaching ballet in a local primary school and welcoming new students to your dance school on a bursary scheme? Come along to this information event to find out more.
About Chance to Dance
Chance to Dance creates more accessible pathways into ballet for children who might not otherwise have access, offering opportunities to engage creatively with the work of The Royal Ballet and connect with local dance schools. The programme offers professional development for teachers from local dance schools. Chance to Dance will be delivered in Doncaster primary schools with year 3 children from September 2020.

The day will include:
11.00am – 1.30pm
Presentation about Chance to Dance including information about how to apply to be part of the programme in Doncaster.
A practical dance workshop, exploring how to devise and teach a creative ballet workshop inspired by a piece of Royal Ballet repertoire, delivered by David Pickering, former soloist of The Royal Ballet.
1.30 – 2.30pm
Matinee performance by Russian National Ballet: The Nutcracker at Cast in Doncaster
There is no charge for attending this event however capacity is limited: Booking is essential.
All places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Lunch will be provided along with a ticket for the matinee performance of The Nutcracker. If you would like to attend the recruitment event but are unable to stay for the matinee performance, please let us know when requesting a place.
