Cast has seen surge in sales for this year's panto Cinderella, despite Brexit uncertainty and looming General Election.
It seems the people of Doncaster, despite all uncertainty, still want one thing, a magical Christmas. Their pantomime, family-favourite Cinderella, has got thousands flocking for the perfect alternative for locals to escape the fatiguing landscape of political news.
In its seventh year, Cast’s annual pantomime has been a huge hit, entertaining over 130 thousand people in Doncaster, since opening in 2013. This year sees Cast take record breaking bookings at the Box Office, selling over 500 more tickets than this time last year (Robin Hood). As the performers ready themselves for opening night on 29 November, over 80% capacity has already sold, with just a handful of tickets still up for grabs.
Sian Booth, Head of Marketing and Communications at Cast says: ‘Our annual pantomime is the busiest and best time of year for the staff at Cast. We have been going full steam ahead with the campaign, making sure as many people as possible can access a wonderful and affordable Christmas panto, making memories and lifelong traditions with their family.’
The whole team at Cast will welcome more families than ever before, with not just one, but three festive productions this year, including Whisker’s First Winter and Glisten – the perfect alternative to panto, especially for very little ones.
It so encouraging to see that Doncaster is choosing to come together at this special season of joy. Cinderella, Whisker’s First Winter and Glisten are all nearly sold out, and I for one can’t wait to have our theatre full of excited children enjoying a special Christmas treat with their loved ones.’
Cinderella runs at Cast from Friday 29 November – Tuesday 31 December.
