Local writer-performer Danielle Phillips and award-winning director Lucy Atkinson are looking for South Yorkshire composers, DJs, lighting designers, sound designers, digital artists, musicians, stage managers, choreographers, technicians, and video designers with a passion for creating explosive new drama that embraces the liveness of theatre with northern culture at its heart.
They like to work very collaboratively – ensuring each creative has a voice in the process. They're currently recruiting for paid roles for a new project which explores young women's journey through Doncaster's clubbing scene in the 1990s, as the town struggles to reinvent itself in the shadow of mine closures. The show is being developed at Cast.
They are particularly interested in meeting creatives with multiple fields of expertise: actors who can DJ, for example. They're holding a day of meetings at Cast on 19 September with Danielle and producer Joe Bunce. These informal chats are a chance for them to show you what they do – and for you to do the same!
The meetings will take place on Thursday 19th September.
If you’d like to book a slot, drop an email to introducing yourself before 5pm on 16 September. They are looking for artists with a genuine connection to Doncaster.
If, for any reason, you are unable to make the dates listed for a face-to-face meeting, please get in touch anyway!
